Dutch Bros Vancouver Partnered with its Community to Raise over $5,400 for Hunter Pearson Scholarship Fund

August 3, 2017

VANCOUVER, Wash. (August 3, 2017) – On Sunday, July 30, the Vancouver community partnered with the Dutch Bros located at 9913 NE Hazel Dell Ave., to raise $5,410 for the Hunter Pearson Scholarship Fund.

Hunter Pearson, 18, was a senior at Columbia River High School, and was set to attend college this fall at Utah State University, where he earned a scholarship and had plans to play football. Known for his thoughtfulness and selflessness, he lost his life while swimming in Lacamas Lake.

To raise the funds, Dutch Bros donated $1 from every drink sold on Sunday. The Columbia River High School football team was also onsite selling raffle tickets, and community members made additional contributions via onsite donation buckets to support this scholarship and to honor the memory of Hunter.

“Sunday was an absolute success,” said Kenny Stromer, owner of Dutch Bros Vancouver. “We were so excited to be able to bring so many community members together that day, all in Hunter’s honor.”
