DUTCH BROS. RELEASES SECOND ISSUE IN COMIC SERIES

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Oct. 24, 2011) — On Monday, Oct. 31, Dutch Bros. Coffee will release the second issue in its highly popular comic book series, Dutch Bros. Freedom Fighters, which follows the adventures of Mad Cow, Princess Penny and Pez. In honor of its release date, the second Freedom Fighters issue will feature a Halloween-themed plotline.

Freedom Fighters is the brainchild of Brant Boersma, who is editor-in-chief. Boersma worked with a talented staff in the production of the comic book:

• Jeff Egli, artist/inker
• Tom Mintun, letterer
• Kurk Kasparian, cover colorist
• Christopher Tullis, layout assistant

“The first edition of Freedom Fighters was so well received by our customers, we were psyched to put our heads together and brainstorm for the next one,” said Boersma. “We hope our fans enjoy the spooky element we’ve added in for Halloween.”

Dutch Bros. will distribute 70,000 copies of Freedom Fighters for free at each of its nearly 170 drive-thru coffee stands in Oregon, California, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado and Arizona. The first issue of the comic book debuted on April 1 of this year.
