Dutch Bros Sacramento Raises Over $22,000 in Honor of Slain Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy

September 7, 2017

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (September 7, 2017) – On Monday, Sept. 4, four Dutch Bros Sacramento locations raised $22,490 for a memorial fund in honor of Deputy Robert French.

"It is an honor and privilege to recognize Officer French and his 21 years of service to Sacramento. We hope that his family finds solace in the support and generosity of our community,” said Nikol Grubbs, owner of Dutch Bros Sacramento. “We pray for all our officers that risk their lives to keep us safe every day. Much love and respect from Dutch Bros.”

Deputy French was a 21-year veteran of the Sacramento County Sherriff’s Department. He was shot and killed in the line of duty on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Deputy French received the United States Honor Flag, which arrived in Sacramento on Monday morning. The Honor Flag was born after the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11, 2001, and is bestowed upon fallen Police Officers and Firefighters. The Honor Flag will remain with Deputy French until he is laid to rest.

Dutch Bros Sacramento donated $1 from every drink sold on Monday, in addition to providing onsite donation buckets for community members who wanted to contribute more. Donations will be made to a Memorial Fund in Deputy French’s name at the CAHP Credit Union.
