Drink One for Dane Raises Over $1,000,000 to #endALS

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (May 10, 2017) – On Friday, May 5, Dutch Bros locations in all seven states rallied with its communities to raise $970,037 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to support ALS research and family services. Days after Drink One for Dane, a Dutch Bros vendor made a generous donation, one that enabled Dutch Bros to donate over $1 million towards the fight against ALS.

"When one of Dutch Bros vendors, Amhil heard how close we were, they were inspired to help and have made a gift of $30,000 to bring our Drink One for Dane total to $1,000,037," said Jen Wheatley, Dutch Bros Senior Director of Community Affairs.

"We were blown away last year by our community’s support, and raising even more this year is beyond amazing. Our community never ceases to amaze us, and it truly shows by the support they showed on Drink One,” said Travis Boersma, Co-founder, Dutch Bros Coffee.

Every year, on the first Friday of each May, Dutch Bros rallies for its annual Drink One for Dane day. A day that began in 2006 after Dutch Bros co-founder, Dane Boersma was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS. Drink One for Dane began as a way to raise funds and awareness for a disease that is not well understood.

In 2009, Dutch Bros lost Dane to this unnerving disease. Drink One for Dane has lived on to honor a man whose wisdom and spirit is still very much a part of Dutch Bros’ day-to-day operations, as well as to raise funds to support the advancement of ALS research and to support family services.

ALS is an unsettling disease that affects the parts of the nervous system responsible for voluntary muscle control, severely hindering the ability to speak, move or even breathe. Those diagnosed with the disease typically lose their battle within three to five years.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association, better known as MDA, is the world’s leader in ALS research. Funds raised on Drink One for Dane benefit this organization as they continue to support families affected by ALS and to further research into this disease for which a cause and a cure are currently unknown.

“How incredibly special that on Drink One for Dane day, the FDA approved the first drug to treat ALS in over 22 years — a proof point reflective of the unprecedented momentum we’re seeing in ALS research,” said MDA Senior Vice President & Scientific Program Director, Grace Pavlath, Ph.D. “On this same special day, the Dutch Bros community came together in honor of Dane and in support of continued progress in the fight against ALS. The incredible results of this year’s Drink One for Dane Day are sure to help MDA make the breakthroughs needed to find treatments and cures for ALS.”

“It’s pretty crazy to think that on the same day there was significant progress made in a treatment," said Travis. "And for me, I am just super grateful.”

With the community’s support on Friday, and the donation from Amhil, Dutch Bros was able to donate $1,000,037. Making Dutch Bros' total donation to the MDA over $3.5 million. These funds will continue to support family services and research efforts as the fight against ALS continues.

"With still no cure in sight, the money [Dutch Bros] raises through 'Drink One for Dane' provides the kind of hope which is invaluable for all those who are inflicted with ALS. This hope is what keeps our spirits high, giving us the opportunity to live a more normal life," said Dennis Westling, ALS patient.

Dutch Bros Spokane Raises over $12,000 For Cure For Cat

SPOKANE, Wash. (May 22, 2017) – On Sunday, May 14, all Dutch Bros Spokane locations raised $12,220 for Cat Davis, a local woman suffering from Scleroderma.

Cat was diagnosed with a rare form of Systemic Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that turns her soft tissue into hard tissue. Because Cat's form of Scleroderma is systemic, it also effects her internal organs.

To raise the funds, Dutch Bros Spokane locations sold Medium drinks for $2, and they donated $1 from every drink sold on Sunday May 14, to Cat Davis. "We are so honored to play a small part in what we hope and believe will be a life saving surgery for cat, and a possible cure for Scleroderma," said Kevin Parker, owner of Dutch Bros Spokane.

In order to combat her disease, Cat will be receiving her second stem cell transplant, this time the stem cells are from her brother Dan. Because Dan is an exact match and he does not have Scleroderma, Cat and her team of doctors are extremely optimistic about the results of her transplant.

Dutch Bros Gets Caffeinated with New Edition of Cold Brew

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (May 15, 2017) - Friday, May 19, marks the official launch of Dutch Bros Coffee's, Nitrogen-Infused, Cold Brew Coffee.

On Friday, all Dutch Bros locations will have Cold Brew Coffee available for purchase. Dutch Bros Cold Brew Coffee is made from the company’s private reserve, three-bean blend and water. It is nitrogen infused, and contains no added sweeteners.

"I am biased, but this is the best cold brew on the planet," says Travis Boersma, President and Co-Founder Dutch Bros Coffee.

Handcrafted and chilled from beginning to end to ensure consistency and flavor, Dutch Bros Cold Brew Coffee stays refrigerated from production to the customer’s hands. Dutch Bros Cold Brew is bottled in 11.5-oz. nitrogen-infused cans enabling customers to purchase this ready-to-drink product and drink it at their own leisure while on the go, at work or at home.

The nitrogen infused cold brew is not only loaded with caffeine, but also has numerous benefits. Dutch Bros Cold Brew Coffee is amped up with more caffeine than a typical quad shot of espresso, this is due to the Cold Brew process, coffee being steeped with cold water over a long period of time, instead of the typical hot water steep, which dilutes the caffeine content in espresso. Cold Brew Coffee is also sugar-free, as it is comprised of coffee and water only. Cold Brew Coffee is high in antioxidants, as well as low in acidity.

Dutch Bros Cold Brew can be enjoyed straight from the can or over ice. In true Dutch Bros fashion, its Cold Brew is completely customizable with flavors and milk.

Dutch Bros Cold Brew is of highest of quality due to its use of Dutch Bros private-reserve with beans from Brazil, Colombia and El Salvador. Beans are roasted individually, in Grants Pass, Ore. then blended together to further ensure freshness and quality. The nitrogen infusion enables Dutch Bros Cold Brew Coffee to be creamier and richer than other Cold Brew products because nitrogen does not easily dissolve in water, leading Dutch Bros Cold Brew to be more velvety in nature.

Drink One for Dane Raises Over $970,000 in One Day to #endALS

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (May 10, 2017) – On Friday, May 5, Dutch Bros locations in all seven states rallied with its communities to raise $970,037 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association to support ALS research and family services.

“How incredibly special that on Drink One for Dane day, the FDA approved the first drug to treat ALS in over 22 years — a proof point reflective of the unprecedented momentum we’re seeing in ALS research,” said MDA Senior Vice President & Scientific Program Director Grace Pavlath, Ph.D.

With the community’s support on Friday, Dutch Bros was able to donate $970,037. Making Dutch Bros' total donation to the MDA over $3.5 million. These funds will continue to support family services and research efforts as the fight against ALS continues.

"With still no cure in site, the money [Dutch Bros] raises through 'Drink One for Dane' provides the kind of hope which is invaluable for all those who are inflicted with ALS. This hope is what keeps our spirits high, giving us the opportunity to live a more normal life," said Dennis Westling, ALS patient.

Dutch Bros’ Drink One for Dane Looks to Advance the Fight Against ALS

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (April 28, 2017) - On Friday, May 5, all Dutch Bros locations will celebrate Drink One for Dane by donating proceeds from every drink sold to the Muscular Dystrophy Association to further support Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis research and family services.

May 5 will mark the company’s eleventh year partnering with its community to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or MDA. MDA is the world’s leader of in the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS.

“It’s hard to believe it has been ten years and we hope everyone will join us to make this the best year yet,” said Dutch Bros Co-founder, Travis Boersma. “All of us at Dutch Bros, look forward to the day we celebrate beating ALS.”

ALS is a disease that affects the parts of the nervous system that are responsible for muscle movement, and is unforgiving. ALS is a particularly cruel disease because those impacted are well aware of what is going on around them, but unable to control muscle movements such as speaking, breathing or moving. There is currently no cause, or cure for ALS and most people who are diagnosed will typically lose their battle within three to five years.

Drink One for Dane began in 2005, after Dutch Bros co-founder Dane Boersma was diagnosed, as a way to raise awareness and support for a disease that was, and still is, not fully understood. In 2009, the company lost Dane to this incurable disease. Drink One for Dane remains a way to honor the legacy of a man who was known to inspire and positively impact all around him and Dutch Bros will continue this fight until a cure for ALS is discovered.

On Friday, Dutch Bros will once again rally with its communities to raise awareness and support for ALS, a disease that affects the lives of many throughout Dutch Bros and its communities. All 283 locations throughout the seven states in which the company operates will donate proceeds from all drinks sold to further support the fight against ALS and to further support family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors who have been touched by this unnerving disease.

“At MDA we’re seeing unprecedented progress in the neuromuscular disease field, and it’s inspired us to work harder than ever to find urgently needed solutions for the ALS community,” said MDA Senior Vice President and Scientific Program Director Grace Pavlath, Ph.D. “Thanks in part to Dutch Bros.’ generous support over the last 10 years, MDA’s current ALS investment covers 44 active ALS grants — each of which has the potential to lead to life-changing therapies. Together with Dutch Bros., we’re closing in on the breakthroughs that will lead to treatments and cures.”

To date, Dutch Bros has donated over $2.53 million, with last year bringing in over $758,000: a donation amount the company is looking to surpass this year. Together, we can make a difference to end ALS

Luv Won this Valentine’s Day as Dutch Bros Donated Over $251,600 to Local Food Organizations

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Feb. 24, 2017) – Every Valentines Day is Dutch Luv Day, all Dutch Bros locations partner with their communities to show love to local community members in need of food. This year, Dutch Bros was able to raise $251,671 to support local organizations as they continue to provide healthy and nutritious food for those in need.

“We are so lucky to have amazing customers who support us when we ask,” said Dutch Bros Co-Founder, Travis Boersma. “When we are able to come together to support our communities it’s inspiring how much we can accomplish.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, all Dutch Bros locations throughout the seven states in which the company operates donated $1 from every drink sold to local food organizations. These local organizations provide meals, food programs and assistance to local men, women and children who are in need of support. They provide support to community members in various ways, with a core mission at heart: to end hunger, as we know it.

Dutch Bros moved away from donating canned food on Dutch Luv Day to donating $1 from every drink sold two years ago. On average, $1 enables local organizations to purchase a plethora of healthy and nutritious food to local community members. This monetary donation not only saves them time from sorting through food that may be expired, or not up-to proper food standards, but also provides more meals for the community.

Last Dutch Bros donated $234,030, equaling over 1.6 million pounds of food, or over 1.3 millions meals to local organization. This year, with the help of its community, they were able to increase its donation by $17,641 for a total of $251,671. This donation will allow local organizations to purchase up to 1,761,697 pounds food.

“The fact that there are so many in our communities that are working and stretching to make ends meet,” continued Travis. “If we can help them access nutritious food that makes all of us at Dutch Bros smile.”

Luv Wins: Dutch Bros Donates to Local Food Organizations on Valentine’s Day

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Feb. 9, 2017) – February 14 marks Dutch Bros’ annual Dutch Luv Day. On Tuesday, all Dutch Broslocations will donate $1 from every drink sold to local food organizations as they continue to provide nutritious food to community members in need.

“We are excited to celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing our communities love,” said Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros co-founder. “Dutch Luv Day is a day we are able to come together as a community to serve people who are in need of food.“

Every Valentine’s Day, all 277 Dutch Bros locations in the seven states in which the company’s operates donate $1 from every drink sold to local food organizations in their communities. Funds will support these organizations as they continue to fight hunger in within our communities. All Dutch Bros locations are locally owned and operated giving each franchisee the opportunity to support organizations that are positively impacting community members.

“No man, women or child should ever be forced to go without a meal, or have to chose between paying utilities bills or purchasing food,” said Travis. “These local organizations that we have the opportunity to partner with on Dutch Luv Day are working towards a common goal—to eliminate hunger in our communities.

Dutch Bros shifted from a canned food donation to a monetary amount, two years ago. This change was due to the understanding of how every dollar supports local organizations. On average, a donation of $1 allows these organizations to purchase up-to seven pounds of healthy and nutritious food to further support local community members in need of making ends meet. Thus, $1 from every drink sold provides organizations the opportunity to purchase an abundance of food rather than having to sort through cans that may be expired, or not up-to proper food standards.

Last year, Dutch Bros was able to provide over 1.6 millions pounds of food, or over 1.3 million meals for community members by raising $234,030 on Dutch Luv Day. The company looks to surpass this donation amount this year.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Dutch Bros’ Buck for Kids Raises Over $250,000 for Local Kids

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Dec. 16, 2015) – Friday, Dec. 4, marked the Dutch Bros annual Buck for Kids day. On this day, over 250 Dutch Bros locations in seven states raised $250,008 for local children’s organizations.

“Investing in our kids is vital. We are inspired by all the organizations that put such care and planning into providing opportunities for kids,” said Travis Boersma Dutch Bros Co-founder. “Having the opportunity to support those local organizations as they provide programs and activities that compel our youth to live their dreams is truly heart warming.”

Buck for Kids is an annual event where each Dutch Bros franchisee partners with their local community to raise funds for organizations that benefits local youth.

"We are very grateful for the gift from Dutch Bros, the money is directed to our program that serves children with special needs throughout the year," said Kip Murray, Executive Director, Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped in Phoenix, AZ. "Each year we have a funding gap at the end of the year and this served as our own holiday miracle."

To raise funds, all 254 Dutch Bros locations donated proceeds from the day’s sales. Funds will go to the organization as they continue to support local youth and make a positive impact on their lives.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Cheer All Around As Dutch Bros’ 12 Days of Christmas Benefits Community

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Dec. 22, 2015) – Dutch Bros’ 12 Days of Christmas has been spreading holiday cheer all with the help of you, and our community. The fun continues with a wrapping party at the Dutch Bros headquarters, located at 300 N. Valley Way on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Beginning on Sunday, Dec. 13, Dutch Bros locations in Josephine and Klamath Counties have been participating in a variety of themed days that encourage all to give or receive joy this holiday season.

The 12 Days of Christmas included donation days for local organizations such as Funds for Food to the GPHS Comfort Food Program and Three Rivers School District, Canine Angels, Toys for Tots, and Joe’s Place. These days also encouraged the community to come together by spending time caroling, baking yummy treats with a Dutch Bros Cookie Cutters or paying it forward to spread even more love throughout the month of December.

The holiday fun is not over just quite yet either, as there are three more days until Christmas. On, Dec. 23, Dutch Bros invites all to come out, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., to headquarters in Merlin to indulge in the holiday spirit. Bring your gifts and come cozy up, visit DutchWear shop for last minute gifts, and members of the Dutch Bros team help wrap your Christmas gifts. Donations will be accepted for wrapping services; all funds will benefit the Love Abounds Foundation. On Christmas Eve, the Dutch Bros will celebrate the holidays within the community.

Dutch Bros 12 Days of Christmas is a way the Dutch Bros family could not only show their immense appreciation for the local community, but also celebrate this great time of year together as a community.
